Nihonbashitei Steak

My new favorite Japanese Restaurant is Nihonbashitei. If you're looking for a teppanyaki place that's a bit on the fun side, this is where you can take your family or friends, except if there is a Senior Citizen. Service here is average (since the waitresses need to smile and show life), though the food is great!

This is Peter. You need to look for him when you dine here since he is the only warm and enthusiastic person in the restaurant. I am unable to take the picture with him juggling different laddles, condiments and food...don't worry, no knife juggling here:)

Check this out: he breaks the egg halfway through flipping it in the air. It lands on the laddle sideways and it cracks to allow the contents to spill on the pan..it's amazing that the shell did not even fall off. This was the highlight of my day:) haha

And another trick:)

Next time, I will order an extra fried rice after he is done cooking it, just so I can watch again...I am just amazed with the egg trick!

Regular Steak

We started with the most normal dish :)

This is good, though compared to the Japanese steak, it's so poor.

It was tender even if it was the local steak.

Remember to ask for spoon and fork. We forgot about it. Prawns tasted fresh and it was juicy!

HEAVEN..... The meat was the most tender ever and the seasoning was perfect. Can you see the fat? It pretty much melts in your mouth. I can eat this Forever.:)

I can't wait to return since the food is great and it's so fun to watch Peter cook. Alot of people dine here so they have valet parking for the convenience of customers. This place is near the skyway entrance in Makati:)

Red Kimono

Red Kimono is a great Japanese Restaurant since their food is always good and affordable. Service is average and could need more improvement to make the dining experience better. Check out what we had:

 

Crunchy Tuna Maki

I find their sushi really good. This was excellent and I would definitely order it again. The maki is rolled in tempura flakes, so don't think it's deep fried:)

 

Super Awesome Chicken Kamameshi Rice

This is my favorite. I can eat it alone since it's so tasty. I love that it's not oily and too salty like other Japanese fried rice. This is a must;)

This was good as well. We had 2 and we finished it all!

Chicken Teriyaki

Meat is tender and cooked perfectly. The sauce is your typical teriyaki sauce - sweet and a bit salty.

Sizzling Tofu Steak

Served with Asparagus and Mushrooms

The sauce of the tofu steak is a bit sweet and I like how everything goes well together. If you dislike healthy food but have no choice but to eat it, this is an option for you:)

Jipan

Jipan is one of my favorite places to go since they have delicious food and really yummy bread. I would usually drop by the Glorietta branch to buy their MONROE Bread since it tastes like croissant!!!!

J and I ate at the Megamall Branch after we spent an hour in Forever 21 and the Gun Show.

I got an awesome meal since its a bento set:

Tuna Sashimi

sooooo gooood!

Miso soup (also part of my bento set)

If you notice there are tempura crumbs in it. A huge plus for me;)

My main course: Chicken Katsu

This has been my favorite since I was a child. The chicken was crispy. Sauce was the usual katsu sauce and the serving was generous.:)

J's Zaru Soba

He practically orders this everywhere however he claims that the zaru soba from this restaurant is the best:)

Bread Selection

The chocolate croissant, Monroe bread and their diet breads are all tasty. I will return for their blueberry bread since it looks heavenly. The best thing about this place is that they serve new bread everyday. Alot of people really take time to buy their bread. I also see some Japanese customers here, so that should be a good sign.:)

If you plan to visit, you can either go to the one in Glorietta or Megamall. Both stores have pleasant staff.

Isshin Again!

I am sure you've noticed my love for Japanese food. J and I had brunch here the other day since we were starving after working in QC. What's awesome about this restaurant is that service is fast, food is good and it's open for 24 hours.

Jozu Kin Restaurant

J and I decided to eat at Jozu Kin (Jozu - "skillful" and Kin - "gold") the other night since we wanted to have sushi. The ambiance is perfect for those who are stressed since it is comfortable and relaxing. The service here is fast and the servers immediately respond to your glances - and you no longer need to wave your hand, which is a plus for me! I enjoyed the food and it was worth it. They claim that they fly in ingredients from Japan, so that must be it!

Isshin

Isshin is the ideal place if you are hungry since serving time takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes, depending on what you order. The cost of the food is very reasonable (PHP 150 and above) and they even have lunch sets that you can try when it's a week day. My mom, A and I decided to have lunch here last Sunday since we were craving for Japanese food. Check out what we ordered:

Salmon Sashimi

Mom liked this since it's thick and the fish tastes very fresh and clean.

Miso soup

Yes, it tastes great plus there's lots of tofu inside.

Gyudon

This was A's food and she liked it since the meat was tender and the marinade was salty and sweet.

Chicken Katsu Bento

The crust of the chicken is crunchy and the chicken is so tender and far from oily. This comes with Miso Soup!

We paid PHP 1000 for all these plus drinks.:) 

I mentioned in my earlier post that this place is accessible, service is fast and the food is yummy, so you might want to try it sometime.

Little Tokyo Part II: Urameshiya

I love Little Tokyo. I have dined in 3 different restaurants and they all made me happy.:) Urameshiya is the most famous restaurant in the area, though it only opens at 5:00PM. At night, you will see loads of people, even Japanese, dining here with their Sake and sometimes even liver (gross, but some eat it raw), which is part of the set meals you can order.

The awesome tofu salad.

I am not a salad nor tofu fan, though this is worth trying. The servers always say: favorite of Gretchen Baretto (probably hoping to condition you to thinking that you will look as great as Gretchen after you eat it) weird, but we ordered it anyway. haha!

Awesome ambiance, good food and efficient service. Price will vary, depending on what you order. Always ask for help when ordering to be sure you get the best sellers.
