Zao Vietnamese Bistro

When I feel unhealthy and need good soup, I choose Vietnamese restaurants. J and I had Pho and we enjoyed it like our last visit.

Seafood Pho
J's favorite:)

Chicken Pho
Makes you feel alot better especially when you have a cold.:)

It'll taste so good if you crush the basil and put alot of chili!

Love it!

Zao has average service - not great and not bad either. If you order Pho, you get the food in less than 5 minutes.:) It's also cheaper than Phoa.
Cheers to being healthy (hopefully)!:)

Razon's

Razon's is a filipino fastfood restaurant serving affordable dishes. They serve you the food 5 minutes after you order and food is your typical filipino bestseller dishes. They also serve breakfast and most branches deliver.

Arroz Caldo
J's order. He has been eating lugaw lately since he's dieting. He claims it's good. I think the serving is a bit small. It's one of the cheapest dishes on the menu. Haha

Sizzling Sisig
I had to try this since I am a sisig fan. I have to admit, this was really good. It was crunchy and they served the egg well done, which was what I requested.

Yummm

There are over a dozen Razon's restaurants all over Metro Manila. It's a good place to have cheap filipino food when you're in a hurry. They say the halo-halo and ensaymada are really good. I shall try it next time.

Cheers!:)

La Creperie

Crepe has always been one of my favorite desserts. Check out what I had in La Creperie in Eastwood Mall, Libis:

Butter Sugar Crepe
Yes, I know it lacks fruits, ice cream and more fat. Believe it or not, I actually prefer my crepe as simple as possible. The best butter sugar crepe is from cafe breton. This will do for now:)

Nutella Crepe
J liked this one.

The place is comfortable and the service is far better than cafe breton.

This is posted right above the door so that you can read it as you leave the cafe. It sure put a smile on my face, hope it does the same for you:)

Cheers!:)

Zao Vietnamese Bistro

J and I decided to "eat healthy" right before we buy our movie food (which is equal to nachos, cheese sticks and popcorn). Zao is located on the 2F of Eastwood Mall. The service here is nothing special, though we enjoyed since we were the only ones dining here - which could also be a bad sign. Haha! Our food took 10-18 minutes to be served.

Fresh Rolls
With pork, shrimps, noodles, beensprouts, greens and a peanut dipping sauce
I am no expert with healthy food, though the peanut sauce went well with the roll::)

Seafood Pho
Rice noodle soup with squid, fish balls and shrimps

Herbs for the Pho:)

Stuffed Tofu
with minced pork and mushrooms

Zao is nothing great. It can be compared to Pho Hoa and Pho 24 since they are all the same to me. Though I believe Pho Hoa is more expensive since they have bigger servings. I love to eat vietnamese when I "pretend" to be healthy, which is once in a blue moon. So I shall ponder on whether I will return or not. Perhaps I will try their bbqs:)
Cheers!:)

Momo Part 3

Momo is one of our favorite restaurants in Eastwood - I'm sure you would notice if you have been reading the blog. Service is fast and the food is good. J and I weren't that hungry so we decided to split our scallops pasta and try their frozen iced tea.

My share of the pasta
The strong garlic taste made it great! Noodles were al dente - perfect!

Dalandan Frozen Iced Tea
Refreshing and will really quench your thirst....I know, sounds like a commercial. I felt so much better after drinking their Iced tea. Not for the weight conscious freaks:)

Strawberry Iced Tea
J liked this also. :)

Cheers to more Momo Trips!:)

Yang Chow

Yang Chow Restaurant is located in Shopwise, Libis. Our favorites here include: steamed garlic fish fillet, yang chow fried rice and ofcourse, Siomai. The service here is average and depends on how many people are dining. Food takes 15 to 20 minutes to be served and the cost of the food ranges from PHP 100 to PHP 500.

Siomai
This is what I usually order. They need to improve the chilli oil (and the best is from Le Ching) so that it can be more spicy and have a stronger garlic flavor.

Check out the menu:)
Cheers!:)

They deliver as well:)

Momo

Here I am again at Momo's Eastwood. Once I like a restaurant, I obviously come back. This is one of the restaurants at Eastwood Mall that is always full during lunch time. The food is for sharing and priced reasonably. Service is average to efficient, depending on the number of diners.

Squash with bacon soup and Parmesan bread on the side
I like how smooth it is. They put just enough bacon to keep the flavor of the squash. J liked this

Parmesan Crusted Bread and Cheese Dip
This was on-the-house. The dip was salty and they put a lot of cheese in it and they go well with the bread.

Our favorite Ribs
We ordered extra java rice and extra sauce... which made this dish perfect. Meat was falling off the bone as it was tender and had a smoked-bbq taste.

I promise to try different dishes next time.

Cheers!:)

Kogi Bulgogi

Lately, J and I have been addicted to Korean Food, which lead us to try this new restaurant in Eastwood Mall, Libis. We ordered take out and check out what we got for PHP 800.:)

Marinated Spicy Chicken
J loved this since it was so tasty.

Bulgogi
They were kind enough to give us extra sauce. Meat is tender though I felt that it was average.

Kimchi Pancake
This is my favorite. It's not the best I've had, though the serving is big and we weren't able to finish it. I prefer the Minato version since its a bit crispy on the outside of the pancake:)

Garlic Rice
The first time I ever tried their garlic rice, I was so happy that I started munching on it alone. Correction - J and I did. This visit though was highly disappointing, since it lacked the salty-garlic taste that was so strong last time. What happened? Inconsistencies disappoint me.

Side Dish 1: Dilis
Yes, this was free and I so loved it. It was spicy, salty and crispy too. yummmmm

Side Dish 2: Green Leafy vegetables
I have no idea what vegetable this is though it tasted as if it was steamed since there wasn't any flavor. It was still good though. Besides, anything free is perfect.:)

Side Dish 3: White/green vegetables
I also do not know what you call this one. Though it tasted like Kimchi, except they used a different kind of leaf.

Overall, this place is affordable and cheap. A meal here costs PHP 185 above each so it's pretty affordable. The service here is average however the staff are all friendly and polite. I also noticed that the manager checks on the staff and timeliness as well. Since the place is new, it's clean and comfortable.
Cheers!:)

Momo Cafe

I Had lunch with J at Momo, Eastwood Mall. Its the ground floor restaurant near the escalator and you will alwas see this place full during rush hour or weekends. The food here is affordable especially since the servings are generous. I would definitely come back for their ribs and maybe their cocktails.

My creamed corn and carrot soup with Parmesan crusted bread on the side.
It tasted like squash to me. J liked this.

Complimentary Appetizer
I like the taste of the bread and most of all, that cheesy tapenade!

Yummy Ribs with Java rice, corn, onion rings and steamed vegetables
Awesome:) this is good for 2!

Yes, extra rice! You know you're filipino of you eat ribs with extra rice.
hahahhahahahaha

My yummy Melon and Lychee Shake
So refreshing:)

This is also a great place to catch up with friends since you can eat and even have cocktails. Ambiance is bright and comfortable.

Cheers!:)

Old Vine Grille

If you're looking for a comfortable place to dine in Eastwood, that has affordable food (PHP 300 to 500 per entree), Old Vine Grille is it. I always order their French Onion Soup because the flavor is perfect and the cheese is chewy and tasty. Service here is average - it depends what time you go since there are usually alot of people during rush hour. J always orders their steaks since they're cheap especially if you consider the serving size and the taste.

French Onion Soup

Chef's Quarter Steak
Check out the butter..mmmmmmm

Beef Short Ribs with Asian sauce, curry rice and mango bits
Very tender meat. The mango makes it sweet, however I find that it goes well perfectly.

Cheers!:)
