Lusso, Greenbelt

Value for money is what you will always get when you dine in Lusso, Greenbelt. Their meals range from P400 to P1000 and they always presented well.

Foie Gras Toast
Super awesome! The toast, sauce and foie gras go perfectly and you can also eat the portion of salad on the side if it's too rich for you.

Truffle Chips
My favorite appetizer. Tastes like heaven and you can really taste (and smell) the truffle oil.

Lobster Sandwhich
This was great as well. The meat was cooked perfectly and the sauce was not too strong. you can share it or finish it yourself!

Shepherd's Pie
I was not a fan of this.

Canelloni
Not a fan of this either...

Lobster filling up close
yummmm

Foie Gras toast
worth it especially since it comes with salad and chips on the side

Cheers!:)

Apartment 1B

Apartment 1B is a good choice when you need a nice ambiance so you can catch up with people. Service here is average (since the place is supposed to be slightly upscale) and the food is good if you know what to order.

Macaroni and Cheese

Grilled Pork Chops
Homemade applesauce, potato corn gratin and vegetables
The pork chop was slightly overcooked since it was tough. The fat of the porkchop was slightly burnt and it was the highlight of my meal! The cheese of the potatoe corn gratin complimented it and I like the thin texture of the potatoes. The vegetables were still crunchy and had a regular pepper and salt taste.

Turkey Burger
Whole-wheat bun, freshly ground turkey breast, french fries

Baby Back Ribs
Honey Bourbon marinade, sauteed vegetables and mashed potato

Spaghetti Vongole
Manila clams, white wine, olive oil and garlic
Always a good bet!

Frozen Pie
Vanilla Ice cream, oreo crust, chocolate and caramel sauce
I love having this pie since its sweet, cold and the textures of the ingredients compliment each other.

Apartment 1B is a place conducive for bonding with friends and doing business. It's usually full during peak hours so it's best to reserve or come early. The prices range from PHP 300 to 1000 or more. It's open from 7AM to 11PM from M-W and 7-12 MN every Thursday, Friday and Sat.
Cheers!:)

Flapjacks for Breakfast

I had breakfast in Flapjacks, Greenbelt with my mom and Sisters. The ambiance reminds you of Pancake house with more space and better service. I would pick this any day to Pancake house since the staff are more efficient.

Vigan Longganisa with 2 eggs
My mom and my sister C had this one and it's pretty good especially if you ask them to burn the longganisa a bit so it can be slightly crunchy.

Tapa with 2 eggs
Tapsilog is great comfort food and I was happy with what they served.

See the texture? It's perfect with the vinegar!

Perfect condiments for the filipino breakfast

Sausage, Egg and cheese on english Muffin and Hash Brown on the side
This was A's order. She is like an american when she eats. I didn't try this but she said its good. The muffin looks moist, unlike the one they have in Mcdo. haha

Dessert: Banana Pancakes
Awesome! I am a pancake critic and this was great and moist. It was sweet and buttery and you even have the option to skip the syrup- my sisters did not agree.:)

Moist, fluffy and yummy!

Exactly like pancake house with better food and service!;)

Cheers to more big breakfasts!:)

Junk Food Diaries: Sandy's Pizza

I have never been a fan of pizza, but I have to say that this is worth trying. Sandy's Pizza is located in the Katipunan/ White Plains area and they just opened a branch in Makati, behind Rockwell. They have a wide range of flavors and the beauty about this place is they can deliver with different kinds of pizza flavors. Their best seller is the White Pizza - all cheese.

J and I decided to eat the garlic chorizo and the Beef and mushroom
I love that you can eat more than 2 slices since it's not as oily as Yellow cab:)

The garlic chorizo is so good...cheesy, salty and tasty;)

This beef and mushroom was average. Next time, I'll be more adventurous and I'll try their adobo:)

I would definitely choose this over oily yellow cab and dry shakeys. Pizza hut still has my heart since they have stuffed crust:)

Cheers!:)

Nihonbashitei Steak

My new favorite Japanese Restaurant is Nihonbashitei. If you're looking for a teppanyaki place that's a bit on the fun side, this is where you can take your family or friends, except if there is a Senior Citizen. Service here is average (since the waitresses need to smile and show life), though the food is great!

Appetizer: Salmon Sashimi
A good appetizer before starting with teppanyaki

Here it goes....
Strictly not recommended for Senior Citizens:)

This is Peter. You need to look for him when you dine here since he is the only warm and enthusiastic person in the restaurant. I am unable to take the picture with him juggling different laddles, condiments and food...don't worry, no knife juggling here:)

Check this out: he breaks the egg halfway through flipping it in the air. It lands on the laddle sideways and it cracks to allow the contents to spill on the pan..it's amazing that the shell did not even fall off. This was the highlight of my day:) haha

And another trick:)

Next time, I will order an extra fried rice after he is done cooking it, just so I can watch again...I am just amazed with the egg trick!

Regular Steak
We started with the most normal dish :)
This is good, though compared to the Japanese steak, it's so poor.

butter heaven....

Who needs veggies when there's steak?
It was tender even if it was the local steak.

Prawns:)
Remember to ask for spoon and fork. We forgot about it. Prawns tasted fresh and it was juicy!

Japanese beef
Check out how marbled it is!

One more time...one more time...one more time...

HEAVEN..... The meat was the most tender ever and the seasoning was perfect. Can you see the fat? It pretty much melts in your mouth. I can eat this Forever.:)

Sauce for seafood and sauce for the steak

Here is the menu...our bill was around 3900, if I remember correctly. :)

I can't wait to return since the food is great and it's so fun to watch Peter cook. Alot of people dine here so they have valet parking for the convenience of customers. This place is near the skyway entrance in Makati:)

Cheers to more Japanese Steak!

Razon's

Razon's is a filipino fastfood restaurant serving affordable dishes. They serve you the food 5 minutes after you order and food is your typical filipino bestseller dishes. They also serve breakfast and most branches deliver.

Arroz Caldo
J's order. He has been eating lugaw lately since he's dieting. He claims it's good. I think the serving is a bit small. It's one of the cheapest dishes on the menu. Haha

Sizzling Sisig
I had to try this since I am a sisig fan. I have to admit, this was really good. It was crunchy and they served the egg well done, which was what I requested.

Yummm

There are over a dozen Razon's restaurants all over Metro Manila. It's a good place to have cheap filipino food when you're in a hurry. They say the halo-halo and ensaymada are really good. I shall try it next time.

Cheers!:)

Junkfood Diaries: Army Navy Burger

Army Navy is my new favorite burger here in Manila. Next would be Wham Burger from Katipunan. Check out the picture of the "regular" burger....soooooo good!

Posting this makes me crave for another one.:)
The bread they used is moist and good. The regular burger is served with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. I ordered extra cheese and onions :) I love how juicy the burger is and the meat they use is perfect.

Freedom Fries with cheese (additional topping)
This one has a peppery taste and is not as salty though it surely is crunchy.

The take-out bags are eco-friendly:)

Alot of people dine in the Glorietta 5 Branch - even foreigners! The service is a bit slow since they cook everything upon receiving your order. The staff need customer service training too! Though if you're not particular with service and in need of a good and affordable burger, army navy is a must try!
Check their website below to see what other food they offer.

Cheers to army navy!:)
