Kanin Club

J and I celebrated my exhausting Sunday in Kanin Club located at the HUB in Q.C. This place can be spotted from afar, as there are avid diners waiting patiently to be seated. We decided to order dishes that did not go well together, though they both tasted great! Serving portions are good for 2, especially if you order with fried rice.

Crispy Dinuguan
This is my favorite!

Tinapa Rice
Can be eaten alone;)

Tapa ni Ana
Meat was tender and marinated well. It also had enough oil to make me smile.

Place Mat:)
Overall, I like the filipino food here. The only minus is that the service is S-L-O-W. I believe they need hardcore training to attract more people. Perhaps I ought to give them my business card. Haha

Cheers!:)

Chili's

Celebrated the proposal story of C and the promotion of V at Chili's. We enjoyed talking with our margaritas:)

Fish fillet and chips
JR was with us and he was trying to study while having dinner. I doubt he was able to study since we were too noisy.

Caramel Apple Tart
My new favorite dessert at Chili's thanks to G.:)

Frozen Strawberry Margaritas
Strawberry Margaritas of chili's are so reliable. We decided to order a pitcher and Vended up finishing most of it. hahhahaha

Cheers!:)

Mesa, Greenbelt 5

We celebrated the birthday of C at Mesa last night. The girls and I enjoyed since the food was good and ambiance was conducive for our bonding. A plus is that they did not mind that we were noisy. haha! The only thing missing in this place is good service - they forgot our order of Crispy Pata.
I like eating at Mesa since the food is usually good - except for their 2-way laing. They still need training when it comes to service since they usually have boo-boos everytime I'm here.We decided to order their different best sellers, and here they are:

Beef Kare Kare
It was pretty good! I prefer this to Ox Tail Kare Kare.

My favorite Crispy Boneless Tilapia with 4 sauces
All of us enjoyed this one. You can just keep trying the different sauces so you get a different taste for every bite. Its sort of like for those with ADHD.:)

Baby Squid Adobo
The squid was cooked perfectly. It was also clean and tasty, a bit salty but just right. I loved the oil of this. Perfect:)

Pomelo Salad
K was with us, which meant - salad! I'm relieved that this salad (or should I say, Fruit salad - since its mostly just pomelo) was good and it tastes similar to the thai pomelo salad.

C's free birthday cassava cake
This was served warm with the right sticky texture and sweetness to it. We all enjoyed this. Happy Birthday Champs!

Pinatayong Manok
This was for the table next to us. V and I just decided to take pictures. haha!

Mesa is located at Greenbelt 5, across the Nuvo area, near Steve Madden, Promod and Warehouse. It's best to reserve since it's usually full.

Cheers to more Filipino Food!:)

Sonja's Cupcakes

 Banana Monkey Cream Pie
Awesomeness!

This cupcake has been my all-time favorite since I've tried it. Sonja's cupcakes are amazing! I can eat them forever. Some of my favorites include: Red Velvet, Mud Pie, Cookie Monster and Vanilla Sunshine. I have converted so many of my friends already. You should try this as well.

Cheers!:)

Texas Roadhouse Grill

 Grilled Pork Belly
Served with steamed vegetables and rice

  My pork belly up close;)

I like the food here at Texas Roadhouse (American Restaurant) since the servings are big and the price is affordable. I would like to try their ribs next time I dine here. Ambiance is perfect during daytime or night times since its not too sunny and the servers are polite. The manager also checks on each table to greet the diners. I think this is a place that is worth spending your money on. And did I mention the free wi-fi?:) yes, another big plus:)

Cheers!:)

Pancake House

I am proud to share that my dining experience at Pancake House in Fort Bonifacio was pleasant, unlike most branches. Food was served quickly, the food was warm and tasty, servings were appropriate and the servers are pretty responsive.
 Daing na Bangus
J's all time fave;)

 Tacos

Golden Waffle
An extra scoop of butter cream would have sealed the deal,  however J made me feel guilty. Maybe next time:)

Pancake house is what I would consider, the "Diner" of the Philippines. If only they would be more consistent in training their staff across all branches, it would attract more people and better ROI for them. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the breakfast food here.

Cheers!:)

Isshin Japanese Restaurant

Had a late lunch date with Pam at Isshin, along Pasay Road. We decided to have bento meals. I find it pretty good. Chicken was cooked perfectly, soft inside and crunchy outside. I enjoyed the side orders as well.

My Chicken Katsu Bento

Pork Katsu Bento
(P's order)

Miso soup
This goes with the Bento Meal.

I think this place is pretty affordable and the quality of the food is worth it. Our bill was around PHP 600+.  I'll probably take J here then we can try their sushi next time.:)

Cheers!:)

Vargas Kitchen ADOBO

Have you ever had the ADOBO from Vargas Kitchen? Oh my gosh.....Thanks to my sister A,  and ofcourse her boyfriend Julio, I am now able to enjoy the greatest adobo in the Philippines. This adobo isn't easily available. You need to pre-order and it comes in a big container, good for 20 people. It is salty, oily and peppery. The after taste is like vinegar with pepper and pork. I also love this simply because it has no sauce, instead, it has ORANGE oil.  As you can see, the adobo is shredded, unlike the adobo you order in a restaurant. It seems as if it was cooked for several days.

Check it out!!!!!!

Cheers to awesomeness!:)

Chef Tony's Popcorn

Here is my new junk food addiction: Chef Tony's Splenda Flavored Popcorn! It is similar to Holy Kettle Corn, though alot tastier. It has a sweet, buttery and salty taste to it. They sell this for PHP 120 and it's available in Metrowalk and SM Makati. My sister and J like it as well;)

Popcorn is also a better alternative to chips, according to my former cool and funny nutritionist, L.:)
Cheers!:)

Globe Tattoo Internet

Yes, I understand this is not edible. I simply wanted to share my delight in receiving a free Globe Tattoo Broadband last Monday, when I ran a workshop for Globe. I already tried using it, and it's pretty fast. A lot of people criticize this product, however I haven't had a problem so far.

Cheers to more freebies!:)

Minato

Here is my 2nd post on Minato. I'm sorry but these are really my favorite entrees. They are delicious!
J and I probably eat here once every other month - ever since Danee brought us to this place.:) People usually go to Yedang, which is beside Metrowalk, though this place is really the winner for me. Good service, perfect food and comfortable ambiance. In yedang, they make you leave (the lady owner) after you finish your meal since lots of people are waiting for their turn. At least in Minato, they are polite enough to wait for you to leave. Just make sure you tie your hair when you come here since you will end up smelling like kimchi. :)

Marinated Beef Ribs (2 orders)

Tofu Soup with Seafood
Spicy, filling, tasty, perfect!

I love this appetizer. Its the Kimchi Pancake and its so good!

Did I mention that the food is affordable? For the 2 orders of beef ribs and the soup, our bill was PHP 1000+ so it was affordable!
There are other Restaurants in the area and even a Korean Grocery so make sure you go to Minato.
This place is located along Escriva Drive in Ortigas.

Cheers!:)

Mi Goreng Instant Noodles

Have you ever tried this brand of Mie Goreng from Indonesia? It is THE BEST instant noodles you will ever have. And when I say best, meaning EVERYONE loves it. Throughout the years that my family was living in Indonesia, this was one of the things I always asked for. Everytime I would give friends, they would all enjoy the taste and ask for more. Now, it is available in all Matahari stalls located in SM Megamall, Market Market, etc. Good luck with finding this since its usually out of stock. I caught a Korean couple hoarding all of it at 11am when the stocks were just delivered. I was ready to fight them for it with my small fists and my limited knowledge in close quarter combat (thanks to J). Good thing they still left some.;)
My sisters also brought home some from Bangkok. Now I know what I'll be eating all week;)

I am so happy:) May this bring you joy as well! Hahahha

Cheers!:)

Lusso

Lusso's Foie Gras Burger is awesome! delightful! perfect! I would have wanted them to add more foie gras inside though I guess this will do. The serving of the burger is big and its juicy and tender when you bite into it. The Prosecco onions complements the meat perfectly. It goes with fries and melted cambozola cheese. It costs PHP 595 - yes very affordable!

Can you see the best part?:)

Lusso Truffle Potato Crisps

This is a must! For PHP 150, you can order 2:) It's similar to the chips from Cibo. Perhaps its because its also owned by the Fores Family.
You should try this place. Great ambiance and good food. Their Mac and cheese is also very creamy and rich:)

Cheers to more meals at Lusso!:)

Banapple

There are 2 Banapple Cafe's along Katipunan and both are always full. You will see both places from afar since they cause traffic northbound and southbound (yes, it's true). J and I always try to eat here since their food is soooo good and affordable considering the servings are generous. Service is average however serving time is pretty fast. When both places are full, you will see people waiting in their car till someone leaves, so it is best to avoid peak hours especially 10:00, 12:00, 6:30 onwards.
Banapple got its name from its 2 best sellers: Banoffee Pie and Apple Caramel Crumble. I have never tried them since I am always in the mood to eat their entree's . A meal here will usually cost you PHP 180 ++ with a drink.

Tocino
I usually order this since i love tocino. This one is cooked just the way i want it - sweet enough, not too oily and a bit burnt on the sides.

Tapa
J orders this FOREVER. After he tried this, he hasn't really ordered anything else. How do men eat the same thing over and over?

Cake heaven
Their desserts here have never disappointed me. Next time, I shall take pictures for you;)

Cheers to the love of food:)
