Eat Well Delicious Kitchen

We always enjoy dining at Eat Well! since their food is so tasty and you get value for money. My siblings and I barely spoke to each other since we were too focused on the food.

Sweet and Sour Pork
A must for everyone. This is my favorite since the pork was fried well, it's not too oily and the sauce is perfect. This serves 2-3 people.

My Hot and Sour Soup
This was a bit heavy especially since there are so much tofu, egg and mushrooms inside. The consistency is very thick. It stays true to its name since it is literally hot and sour, which I doubt kids will enjoy.

Yang Chow Fried Rice
The rice that everyone orders. I am not a fan of this since I don't think there's anything special about it. This time, the rice was particularly dry.

Siao Long Pao
The Dumplings have soup inside, so you need to take extra care when eating this. It's best that you put the whole thing in your mouth so you can experience the soup bursting out as you bite into it. This comes with a light brown ginger sauce.

Siomai
Family favorite.:)

Crispy Pork
This was served with mustard - weird if you think about it, though I believe they go well together. I liked the pork especially since it's not at all oily, so you can eat a lot of it.

Vegetable Rice
A and I particularly love this one. I don't know how putting a few spinach leaves in rice would make it vegetable rice, though it's really good. I love that it's a bit oily and the rice grains are separated from each other, plus there are bits of fried salty shrimps in it that make it so yummy!

Overall, I enjoyed myself at Eat Well! Food is great, ambiance is nothing special, space is narrow and can be tight, service is average and cleanliness needs improvement - ants on the wall. Notice how I always notice ants on the wall? :)
They also serve complimentary house tea - which has a touch of sweetness to it. Always book in advance since it's usually full of people.
A place for family and friends to catch up. Have fun:)

Cheers!:)

Bacolod Chicken Inasal

It was the first time I dined here and did not order my chicken bbq and liempo. J and I decided to try something different for a change. We were both craving for sisig and I was curious about their gambas.:)

Sisig Rice
We shared this since it's obviously for 2-3 people depending on how hungry you are. It tasted like...sisig! hehe. You can eat it alone since its tasty, plus it's not really oily, so you can eat alot of it. There are lots of meat in the rice and I like that the egg on top since it complements the flavor of the rice.

Squid Sisig
I know, sounds funky at first, but it's actually good! plus, less calories;)

Sizzling Gambas
This was average. It's definitely not the best gambas I've ever had (which is from St. Luke's Medical Center QC - Red Tomato Grill Restaurant).

Our bill was PHP 595. We could barely walk after this since the rice was so heavy. My favorite here would still be their chicken and liempo. Overall, their food is good, service is fast - when you ask for something, it's given to you immediately, cleanliness could need improvement - there were ants on the wall and flies in the restaurant; though value for money is worth it.

Cheers to Filipino food!:)

Little Tokyo Part II: Urameshiya

I love Little Tokyo. I have dined in 3 different restaurants and they all made me happy.:) Urameshiya is the most famous restaurant in the area, though it only opens at 5:00PM. At night, you will see loads of people, even Japanese, dining here with their Sake and sometimes even liver (gross, but some eat it raw), which is part of the set meals you can order.

Wagyu Set
GRRRREAAAAAATTTT:)

The awesome tofu salad.
I am not a salad nor tofu fan, though this is worth trying. The servers always say: favorite of Gretchen Baretto (probably hoping to condition you to thinking that you will look as great as Gretchen after you eat it) weird, but we ordered it anyway. haha!

Awesome ambiance, good food and efficient service. Price will vary, depending on what you order. Always ask for help when ordering to be sure you get the best sellers.
I shall return:)
Cheers!:)

Breakfast at Shangri-la Makati

One of my favorite breakfast buffet places would be Shang Makati. It costs roughly PHP 1200 per person for a breakfast buffet. The buffet is diverse and it appeals to all kinds of food lovers.
Food stations include:
1. Chinese and Dimsum - offers different kinds of dimsum, noodles, etc.
2. Filipino - tapa, longganisa, etc.
3. Omelet Station
4. Bread and Pastry - selection of different kinds of bread, doughnuts, pastries and jams
5. Waffles, Bread Pudding and Pancakes - great!
6. Sushi, Miso Soup - lovely:)
7. Salad - the area I would not really care to look, though i noticed foreigners there
8. Meat Pies and Quiche
9. Cold cuts and cheeses
10. Indian
11. Sausages, Ham - loved their selection!
12. Cereal
13. Congee/ Lugao - with a lot of condiments
14. Fruits - mangosteen, mango, pineapple, oranges, kiwi, lychee, coconut, etc.
15. Shake Station - you can ask them to make one or you may get from the selected shakes they provide
16. Drinks Station

Awesome bibingka

The wide variety of food they offer make it worth the cost especially if you dine with people who have different food preferences. Service is quick, though it could be improved since its Shang, after all. You need to wave twice or thrice before someone sees you, though what you ask for is given to you in a matter of 10 to 20 seconds.:)
Sorry i was not able to take pictures. I wasn't feeling well today. Next time:)

Chef Tony's White Chocolate Walnut Popcorn

I mentioned in a previous post how good the Chef Tony's Splenda Popcorn is. This however, is alot better. :)

The taste of the popcorn is sweet and a bit salty. its balanced with a light taste of white chocolate.

Yes, there are walnuts inside, which is a plus for me!

Available at SM Department Store, Makati and Metrowalk for PHP 195.

Old Vine Grille

If you're looking for a comfortable place to dine in Eastwood, that has affordable food (PHP 300 to 500 per entree), Old Vine Grille is it. I always order their French Onion Soup because the flavor is perfect and the cheese is chewy and tasty. Service here is average - it depends what time you go since there are usually alot of people during rush hour. J always orders their steaks since they're cheap especially if you consider the serving size and the taste.

French Onion Soup

Chef's Quarter Steak
Check out the butter..mmmmmmm

Beef Short Ribs with Asian sauce, curry rice and mango bits
Very tender meat. The mango makes it sweet, however I find that it goes well perfectly.

Kanin Club

J and I celebrated my exhausting Sunday in Kanin Club located at the HUB in Q.C. This place can be spotted from afar, as there are avid diners waiting patiently to be seated. We decided to order dishes that did not go well together, though they both tasted great! Serving portions are good for 2, especially if you order with fried rice.

Crispy Dinuguan
This is my favorite!

Tinapa Rice
Can be eaten alone;)

Tapa ni Ana
Meat was tender and marinated well. It also had enough oil to make me smile.

Place Mat:)
Overall, I like the filipino food here. The only minus is that the service is S-L-O-W. I believe they need hardcore training to attract more people. Perhaps I ought to give them my business card. Haha

Cheers!:)

Chili's

Celebrated the proposal story of C and the promotion of V at Chili's. We enjoyed talking with our margaritas:)

Fish fillet and chips
JR was with us and he was trying to study while having dinner. I doubt he was able to study since we were too noisy.

Caramel Apple Tart
My new favorite dessert at Chili's thanks to G.:)

Frozen Strawberry Margaritas
Strawberry Margaritas of chili's are so reliable. We decided to order a pitcher and Vended up finishing most of it. hahhahaha

Cheers!:)

Mesa, Greenbelt 5

We celebrated the birthday of C at Mesa last night. The girls and I enjoyed since the food was good and ambiance was conducive for our bonding. A plus is that they did not mind that we were noisy. haha! The only thing missing in this place is good service - they forgot our order of Crispy Pata.
I like eating at Mesa since the food is usually good - except for their 2-way laing. They still need training when it comes to service since they usually have boo-boos everytime I'm here.We decided to order their different best sellers, and here they are:

Beef Kare Kare
It was pretty good! I prefer this to Ox Tail Kare Kare.

My favorite Crispy Boneless Tilapia with 4 sauces
All of us enjoyed this one. You can just keep trying the different sauces so you get a different taste for every bite. Its sort of like for those with ADHD.:)

Baby Squid Adobo
The squid was cooked perfectly. It was also clean and tasty, a bit salty but just right. I loved the oil of this. Perfect:)

Pomelo Salad
K was with us, which meant - salad! I'm relieved that this salad (or should I say, Fruit salad - since its mostly just pomelo) was good and it tastes similar to the thai pomelo salad.

C's free birthday cassava cake
This was served warm with the right sticky texture and sweetness to it. We all enjoyed this. Happy Birthday Champs!

Pinatayong Manok
This was for the table next to us. V and I just decided to take pictures. haha!

Mesa is located at Greenbelt 5, across the Nuvo area, near Steve Madden, Promod and Warehouse. It's best to reserve since it's usually full.

Cheers to more Filipino Food!:)
